Founder’s Note

When we first began making shampoo bars for our own family, we were frustrated by how many “natural” options weren’t actually natural at all. Most were packed with fillers, silicones, synthetic detergents, or heavy waxes that left our hair feeling coated or our scalps irritated.

So, in true Mad Scientist fashion, we went back to the basics — herbs, clean ingredients, and careful formulation.

NatDet started as a simple experiment on our kitchen counter:
Could we create a bar that was truly gentle, actually conditioning, and made from ingredients we could stand behind?

Dozens of batches later, we found the balance we were looking for. The Normal Hair formula became our everyday go-to… and the Herbal version was born when we needed something extra-soothing for dry, itchy, or stressed scalps (a common issue for our family during Texas weather swings).

Every NatDet bar is still made the same way we made those first ones:
small-batch, hands-on, carefully tested, and crafted with real botanicals — not shortcuts.

We don’t use ingredients we wouldn’t use on our own children.
We don’t use greenwashing language.
We don’t compromise on quality to cut costs.
